Nails

I believe that your hands play a big part in beauty.  If you keep them looking young you will apear more youthful and lovely.

Natural Nails - (See picture on the left) Some people love this, just shape and file your nails often and take care of your cuticles. When my nails are natural, I like to keep them short just barely past the tips of my fingers.  I shape them with a nail file and like them blunt with softened edges.  I have started using cutical oil on my cuticals and have noticed that it makes a big difference.  I need to be better at this, but every so often I put night hand cream on my hands and cutical oil on my cuticals then put some cotton gloves on my hands and then go to sleep.  It moisturizes my hands and cuticals when I am sleeping.
When I say natural I mean no polish on my nails, I think it is important to give my nails a break from everything and just let my nails breath... for me this is actually hard.

Acrylic - If done natural looking with a french manicure or the natural clear, I think this looks and feels amazing. I especially like blunt/square style with softened edges. Only down side to getting this done is that it can get expensive with all the upkeep and that it leaves your natural nails super damaged and brittle. Please note: When you get this done don't have the nails done too long, make it look natural and beautiful. Unnaturally natural!!!!

Shellac - Love this product! It is a little more expensive than a normal manicure but the shellac paint lasts FOREVER and my nails don't chip, get brittle and/or rip. I only have it done to my finger nails because the paint on my toe nails seems to last so much longer than my fingers. Cost: $20-$25.00 and very worth it.

Mani/Pedi - I think every girl needs this treatment every couple of months. It's good to get your hands/feet scrubbed, massaged and the old skin sloughed off. Just make sure that if you go to a shop to have it done that the place is super clean and sanitizes all of their stuff. You don't want to take home any one else’s foot fungus. Cost: Mani $15.00 / Pedi &20 - $40.00 and sometimes it is the best thing a girl can do for herself.
